More 1970s Hair Advertisements

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

Considering loads of you hairstyle enthusiasts visited to check out the 70s Ebony Ad Hairstyle Names post from a few days back, I thought I’d share a few more scans that I had laying around. This time please enjoy these 3 ads from 1970s “gentleman’s” magazines. They are each painful in their own way. I [...]

Hyper-detailed Soldier Models

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

I was looking for some photo-reference for soldiers fighting in Iraq. All I could find were really blurry little photographs, until I stumbled onto this site, which sells these amazingly hyper-detailed little soldier models. Not only are they great reference, but they’re really cool just to look at. There’s dozens of ‘em.

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

Here are some pictures of hairstyles with awesome names that I scanned from one of my 1970s Ebony magazines. These are from an ad for hair products, not from an article. All good haircuts should have an equally good name.

Boinx iStopMotion Animation Software

Monday, February 5th, 2007

I have always loved stop-motion and experimented with it as a kid and then again in art school, but until recently I hadn’t come across any tools designed specifically for the job. In college, they had these Lunchbox systems which were great for pencil tests and could be used for stop-motion, but at that point [...]
