Also in Rock Strips, the book that is being published in English this year as Tunes (mentioned here in a post about Morgan Navarro), is the comics artist Obion who has a blog here (previously mentioned here on a post about French erotic comics blogs for his and Gally’s NSFW Love Blog which is also being published as a new book). The above Popeye image is from a new Popeye tribute book out from Charrette, reviewed here in English.

Milumia from Argentina has a selection of illustrations here for you to look at.

Pablo Boffelli has funny cartoons and thoughts about interesting spaces drawn on his blog and Flickr.

Pierre Bolide has got some intense drawings on his Flickr account and website areas.

Recently posted on the ‘brew, check out the funny cartoons of Phylicia Fuentes. It is always refreshing to actually laugh at cartoons instead of just smirk or furrow my brow. Phylicia Fuentes cartoons made me laugh.

We posted about Morgan Navarro way back here, but he has a ton of new artwork to look at since then on his Plutoslo blog and the collaborative Lonely Freaks blog (previously posted about here). I revisited Morgan’s websites because he is part of a new French language comic book anothology about Rock and Roll called Rock Strips, which is being reprinted in English this year by Universe (with the new title Tunes), and for which I had the cool job of re-lettering and adjusting layouts for the translation. More on that in the coming months. Anyway, Morgan did a piece about Radiohead in Rock Strips which was one of my favorites.

Lee Bretschneider from adventuringcompany.com sent over his Bubblegum Party zine full of sketches and drawings and this note:
“I love Meathaus. Thank you.”
Consider Meathaus buttered up. Although that’s kind of a gross expression. Anyway see more of Lee’s webcomics and art on his site above.

Jennifer Crouch draws meatscapes with geometry, crystals and dissected viewing angles and puts them on her blog, the Jenist Empire, and Flickr.

Check out the drawings and wall paintings of DEM666 over on the Flickr for combo-beasts and mutant life.

Up against some killer deadlines so I’ll just let Brandon do the bloggings for me by sending you over to his livejournal once again where he will entertain and inform you for hours, not to mention keep you up to date on all his associate’s latest comics achievements and quarter-bin comics purchases. Apparently Brandon and Marian are working on some movie? Got to call that guy up and see what’s what. Maybe I should stop typing everything that I’m thinking. Anyway, for those of you unfamiliar with how that arcane livejournal system works, you expand each post by clicking whatever witty sentence fragment Brandon has written in parenthesis generally under each first image. Go for it!
