Kira Shaimanova Art

Kira sent a note over to peep her work. She notes, “I call my style ‘sculpture illustration’. I make all the dolls with clay, add hair, their outfits, I make complete sets and photograph myself. It’s may seem like a long process but I think its so worth it to have a style that not many have seen before.” Thanks, Kira, these are neat and sort of cute-grisly. I like the saliva. See her portfolio here and where she blogs.

Craig Atkinson Art

Craig Atkinson Sketchbooks

Craig Atkinson (previously mentioned here), of Café Royal Books, studied fine art, then decided after a bit to produce and publish a bunch of intriguing looking zines and draw a lot. He’s got a massive amount of images on his Flickr stream, and specifically drawing and sketchbook sets.

RAV 4 by Mickey Z

RAV 4 by Mickey Z

Michaela Zacchilli really saved my bacon today by sending over this wild new edition of RAV, her comics publication, because I needed something spectacular to post and it was sitting right there in my face. Besides reading it, I enjoy the Risograph copier/printer qualities of it. Michaela uses the Riso printing to bridge the gap between silkscreening and photocopying, and gets the best of both worlds.

Daily Drawing: Brandon

Daily Drawing by Brandon Graham

New daily drawing by Brandon Graham for today! Too bad our Brandon isn’t also living a double life as Brandon Graham of the Philadelphia Eagles, because then we could hang out more and I could probably con some free tickets out of him.
