Daily Drawing: Farel

Daily Drawing by Farel Dalrymple

Man I just came into possession of a sweet stack of Farel files. It’s going to be smooth sailing on the Dalrymple daily drawing ship from here on out. Click Yeti to see him slightly larger.

Ink Plots at SVA

Mort Grim by Douglas Fraser

At Meathaus we’ve always been proud to feature the School of Visual Arts as part of our creation myth. The school has launched a show called “Ink Plots: The Tradition of the Graphic Novel at SVA” which is up right now for you to look at. Also included are several talks open to the public with Jerry Robinson, Dash Shaw, Gary Panter, and more. There is one tonight, all about Will Eisner, in fact.

The Meathaus associates/SVA alumni participating in the show are Farel Dalrymple, Dash Shaw, Stephen Gilpin, Benjamin Marra, Nathan Fox, and Nate Powell. The above art is from Mort Grim by Doug Fraser, published by AdHouse books.

The show is up in the Visual Arts Gallery, 601 West 26 Street, 15th floor, New York, NY 1000.

Daily Drawing: Chris McD

Daily Drawing by Chris McD

Here’s a new daily drawing! I’ve been stashing recent drawings here on Flickr and sometimes on my McD Workshop blog.

Matt Houston Art

Matt Houston Art

Matt Houston’s work keeps confounding my brain with its interestingness. I want to look at a pile of it at once, maybe take a snack break, then look at it some more. You’ll see his main stash here on Deviantart, and sometimes it is posted here on Livejournal. According to his journal, he’s just moved to Ohio. If it were Burbank, CA he moved to I would have said this guy should be working for Pen Ward on Adventure Time. He not only has wonderful drawing chops but a creative bent that seems as if he would fit right in with other Meathaus associates working there such as Tom (in almost every Meathaus book), Jesse (S.O.S., GFTG!3), and Rebecca (GFTG!3). (Matt was previously posted about here and here.)
