Aeron over at Monster Brains has been posting one outstanding piece after another with a lot of artwork from individual fantasy/horror artists. The above is just a detail of a piece by Hannes Bok. Another post full of artwork by Virgil Finlay is a highlight.

Uno Moralez draws fascinating and horrific drawings in under 256 colors. The above two pieces are cropped since pixel art doesn’t resize down very well. You can enjoy looking at the artwork on Uno’s website, livejournal, and tumblr. Be sure to click deep enough to feel the creepiness of his sequential work and this cool development work on his abandoned animation project.

YES! Mu has been selected to exhibit his work in solo shows in New York City and Taipei plus some other stuff. He was seleceted as the winner of 3rd Ward’s Summer Open Call. See his winning portfolio here. Here is his writing about his work:
“My work is about being the story – stories that had been passed down by our oral tradition. Some of them are passed down to praise the people who have the power above us, some of them are forced to be the truth, and some of them are told much earlier than it happened.
To me, there is no true story or fiction. Once a story is told, it all depends on the story teller and the audience. The most important part of storytelling is neither about narrating nor illustrating what happened, but becoming the story itself so we can go further into it until the story becomes a part of ourselves. Storytelling is not a mere entertainment. If we want to continue creating our false glories and history, we have to keep making up so many tales and they will eventually become facts.
As a painter, I work with a traditional narrative way to present my vision to people. I am actually being the images from my head when I am creating them. I want to tell stories whether they will be accepted or denied. This is going to be the story of myself.”
Mu also blogs here and has multiple spreads of intense drawing in the brand new GO FOR THE GOLD! 4 as well!

Devin Flynn provided funny spastic drawings and collage art for publication in GO FOR THE GOLD! 4. He also sent over some additional credits for some of the pages:
“tube doodles” is a collaboration with Leif Goldberg, “gimme that face” is with Ian Flynn, “shit” “craze itiot” and “footbaby” are excerpts from “Beirdo Fuddies” which is a jam comic-zine by Ian Flynn, Seth Cooper (zissy & Rita) and myself.
Thanks Devin, and above are two images from the book.
