Encyclopedia Pictura re-blew my blown mind recently (previously here) when I read this in-depth profile over at Computerlove by Matthew Newton. It turns out that the three man collaborative is not just another creative outfit in a warehouse space in Brooklyn as I had assumed, but in fact they have been living on this future-science cooperative art-farm somewhere in California with fifteen other people, making augmented reality applications and DIY tractors in between video commissions and developing their first feature film, fittingly titled DIY. They are living my teenaged fantasy. Check out their work, Trout Gulch, and the E.P. @ Trout Gulch blog.
EDIT: And here is an NPR thing on them.
