Did you know that Gary Leib loves Halloween? He loves it! Gary wrote with some photos and a note about the window display that he created on Gabe Fowler’s invitation at Brooklyn’s Desert Island Comics:
“These are made from corrugated cardboard, glue and paint. Each lantern is lit up with a home depot eco-bulb, some I painted with fluorescent acrylic and lit up with black light. Fun to rely on a matte knife and get away from the computer for a while. I collect vintage Halloween decorations and based the design of these lanterns and toys I own.”

Mu Pan has a new painting, “The Loyal 47 Ronin 忠臣義士傳” on his blog with detail shots such as the two images above. The entire diptych has much more visual information on it which you can see there too.

I know I already posted a few samples of Grant Reynolds’s contribution to GFTG!4 here which include Dirty Barfield concept designs, but hey check this post out where Grant reveals the remaining concept drawings that he made of Dirty Barfield, Joe Ghoul, and more for his MUCK t-shirt design.

Ralph Bakshi has launched a new art website in addition to his main site where you can browse work from his art studio and film studio, including sketchbook work. A handful of these pieces were published in Unfiltered: The Complete Ralph Bakshi, some have been in Ralph’s gallery shows, and some pieces are newer and haven’t been featured before. The film galleries appear like they will continue to be filled in, but there are a few sections that have production art for you to look at. Besides the sketchbook work, one of my favorite art sections is The Streets, the recent body of “constructions” that Ralph produced for a show in NYC recently.

Inkstuds has their first video interview up and it is with Brandon.

Jay Ruttenberg, editor of the The Lowbrow Reader, sent over issue 8 and a note:
“Hello! I’ve been enjoying your website and figured I’d send you the newish Lowbrow Reader, thinking it might be up your alley? Well, either way, I do hope you like it! Best, Jay”
Thanks for the Reader, Jay! I will place this on the toilet. Check out the neat illustrations inside by Mike Reddy, a few are above.

I got my mitts on a copy of Alex Schubert‘s The Dudes and this swell drawing from him too. Besides our last post on him here, Alex has a new interview and comic on Vice.

Matt David sent over a postcard a while back, and now finally I got my eyeballs on that site of his and there is some neat stuff, check out Matthew David Illustration.
