Neat Bits

Kenichi's Prints

Kenichi has released a new limited edition print called “Dictator” for you to purchase and become subservient to. Also look at Mr. Hoshine’s website and blog.

Tomer Hanuka Illustrations

Tomer drew these illustrations of Ai Weiwei and posted about them here with a link to a whole documentary on the artist to get you up to speed.

Datassette Megamixes

And hot dang, I have found my dream stash of online mega mix tapes, courtesy of music maker and mixer, Datassette/Datashat. Started out the morning with some droning fuzz tinkling “Music For Programming” and am chasing it with some hard hitting greasy businesscore “Businessfunk” mixes I, II and III. Via Mr. Doob.

Blobby Alex Schubert

Blobby Alex Schubert

I got my filthy fingers on this copy of The Blobby Boys by Alex Schubert, put out by Radical Fortress and I must say that it is a tight little full-color beauty that would feature nicely on the top of any toilet tank. Keep your eyes peeled on Alex Schubert’s comics output as he adds more to the pile in places like this latest Vice contribution. Alex’s blog and previous comics publication.

Package From Casey

Out of Print Zine

Out Of Print Show

Not necessarily a letter to Meathaus but certainly Meathaus-interest-related, check out this video of this gigantic envelope that arrived at my door from Casey Farnum, friend of Meathaus, and a man who will cross state lines for a laser/fog-machine party. It included buttons from the Rocksteady Yeti sets he co-DJs, important headlines from the NY Post, some jamz on CDz, adorable puppy stickers with metallic borders, original drawings and this OUT OF PRINT zine that accompanied an art show that recently was up at the Booklyn Art Gallery with work by Casey, Dina Kelberman, Jason Roy and Mike Taylor. Also above is a shot of multi-zines from Booklyn’s flickr gallery where you can see shots of the show, and lasers.

Thank You by Tom

Letter to Meathaus: Mickey Z

Letter to Meathaus: Mickey Z

Haha! Michaela Zacchilli sent over the latest issue of RAV (#5) which reminded me that it was the last issue‘s exciting multi-colored Risograph-printed design and drawing that prompted me to search out and deposit two broken down digital duplicator machines in my basement. They don’t really work, but I did get a good story out of buying one of them from this gas station manager who lived out near a nuclear power plant and brandished a butcher knife for two minutes while explaining the features to my dad and me before I placed the cash on the bed like some kind of dirty deal and we struggled down the stairs with a 300 pound machine from 1992. One wrong move and my dad was a pancake on some filthy cat shit stained stairs under a broken zine machine. We didn’t die so it was totally worth it. Thanks Mickey for the inspiration and the latest issue of RAV.

Letter to Meathaus: Kyle Pellet

Letter to Meathaus: Kyle Pellet

Dig these super fun super small business card sized greeting cards sent over to Meathaus by Mr. Kyle Pellet of the Pellet Factory. Thanks Kyle!

Letter to Meathaus: Josh Bauman

Letter to Meathaus: Josh Bauman

Josh Bauman sent Meathaus a package with two books and this letter:

“Meathaus, I’ve gathered together two of my recent publications as a humble offering of thanks for all of the excellent work I’ve been introduced through your blog.

Thanks again for sharing such a range of talent. The inspiration it has provided cannot be put into words.

Caffeinated Toothpaste: Volume 1 is the print compilation from the first year of my daily diary comic. The 24-hour comic is, well, a 24-hour comic.

Enjoy, Josh Bauman”

Thanks for the books and the letter, Josh. Josh is, according to his book, an American cartoonist living in Berlin and you can see the diary comics happen here live.
