“The world is so very nice. So we just want to offer some kind of balance.”

I’ve got a soft spot for these two, so it was cool to see this video and new diorama.

T-shirts That Didn’t Get Us Into Price Is Right

Monday, May 14th, 2007

February 2004, Los Angeles. Got up with our visiting Ben and Jenny, met Jethro out at CBS studios, lined up on the sidewalk at around 5am. We were too late. After two hours of waiting on the massive line inching forward towards the studio gate, they cut us off the entrance as they were full. [...]

The Professor’s Daughter

Saturday, May 12th, 2007

I’d seen a few panels in the past from Emmanuel Guibert and Joann Sfar’s book “The Professor’s Daughter”, and been pretty impressed. Just recently, though, I stumbled on this giant preview on the site of their American publisher, First Second, and I was blown away. It looks like what would happen if [...]

Wednesday, July 26th, 2006

Thanks to the nice woman at Pork Disco, a wonderful collection of the coolest crappiest tattoos has been conveniently congregated for your browsing ease.

She has also conveniently subdivided her tattoo picture collection into useful categories.

As usual, the cartoon character tattoos are some of the funniest. Was there much thought put into the decision to tattoo [...]

Jane’s Cut Paper Illustrations

Thursday, July 20th, 2006

Jane’s been doing these small, intricate cut paper illustrations for a children’s book to be published overseas.

Jane introduced me to Lotte Reiniger’s “Prince Achmed” movie and I spend a lot of time watching her cut paper with an exacto knife.  It inspires me to occassionally cut paper with my clumsy, fat fingers.  She doesn’t have a website [...]
